SEMAF, the majority union of train drivers, has called off the four days of strike action planned for 1, 4, 6 and 12 March 2024 after reaching an agreement with Renfe.
The days of strikes were called due to the lack of agreement between the company and the union to implement the improvements in working conditions approved in the Third Collective Agreement of the Renfe group. In addition, the union alleged that the clause on the working day was not being complied with.
Contrary to what was erroneously reported in other media, this strike had nothing to do with the transfer of Rodalies, which the government and the Generalitat are negotiating.
To avoid the strike, whose minimum services had not yet been announced, Renfe and SEMAF held a meeting this morning in which they reached several agreements that have allowed the strike to be called off.
Sources close to Renfe have confirmed to Trainvelling that the agreements meet the demands of the workers and that they contemplate both resuming the renewal of the workforce and adapting the working day to what is agreed in the 3rd Collective Agreement.
